Flavor of Cake

Hey guys! I was talking to Jenn earlier and she mentioned that her favorite kind of cake is chocolate with a mouse filling. Would that be okay to do for the baby shower cake??

Hey guys! I just got off the phone the cake decorator. She came up with a pretty cute idea. The bottom I think she said would be 10 inches, and the top 6.. but I'll have to double check on that.


* Iced in light pink
*Fondent giraffe, elephant, and monkey all to match the jungle jill theme.... kind of pressed onto the sides
* She said that doing some cute little trees in the background would tie in the animals
* Then to try to tie in the lime green, an icing bow on top

What do you think?? I have to call her back by tomorrow and can make any changes!

Then for the cupcakes there were two options:

1) fondent giraffe on top
2) light pink icing with hot pink flowers like on the invitation

Forgot to list the prices. For the cake she said $150. If we go with the zebra cupcakes $100, and the flower cupcakes $85.

OK, great. Thanks for calling and getting prices. I knew the cake would be around $150. Are we good with the price of the cupcakes, boxes and ribbon for favors? So far, I have only spent around $75. The invitations/envelopes with shipping is $58.00 and then probably another $15 for stamps. I am fine with the price of everything. I like the favor idea, but I know we still have a lot to purchase. I will work on a checklist today, so we can kind of budget what things are costing.

I do like the cupcake idea but it's going to be about $140 after everything is said and done. Do we have room for that in the budget?

I personally anticipated spending around $200-$250, plus airfare. So far I have only spent $75. My mom will cover the alcoholic drinks. I still have around $150 to spend. I can pay for the cupcakes and spend another the rest on decor/prizes for games. Who will be paying for the cake? Jenn mentioned that your mom may be helping out with the cake, but I didn't want to count on that unless it is for sure. We have to have the cake, we can find other favors if we need to, but if it works into everyone's budget I do love the idea.

Oh, and I was looking at the sweetie's delights site and saw the cupcakes below. The cucakes themselves don't have to to elaborate, if they have the zebra cupcake paper. What if we did something simple like below. How many cupcakes did the $85 get us? I called and left a message to see what it woudl cost to do something simple. I will let you know when they call back. otherwise I will call PUblix too. $85 for 30 cucakes seems like a lot. We may just have to shop around.

The cupcakes are 2.50 each at sweeties. Plus extra for any kind of design or anything. I thought that seemed a little high too but i'm not sure. The boxes and ribbon are going to be around $40 plus shipping.

Does the cake sound good? The lady wanted me to call her back asap. My mom is definitely paying for the cake.

I anticipated spending 200-300. So far the food and tablewear is $200. I was looking at the picture of the cupcakes that you sent. It would be easy to find the zebra things, and then a simple cupcake. My best friend's mom is an amazing baker. I'm thinking that it wouldn't be hard at all for her to replicate the cupcake. And it would be a fraction of the cost. What do you think? I can give her a call and see if that's possible.

That sounds great. I have a friend that does cake and desserts in her free time too. She just had a third baby, so I don't know if she has the time, but if your lady doesn't work out, we can have a backup. I found these for like $4.00. We can just ship them to whoever will do the cupcakes and maybe alternate pink and green frosting....I think that is better than spending $85.
I like the hot pink and black. Or we could just do all black. Whichever.

look up images of baby cupcakes ... so easy to make. and cant be more than 30 bucks. ill make them myself.

Kelly, the picture I posted above is fine with me. Something simple. Just a zebra cupcake wrapper with alternating pink and green frosting. Thanks for offering to do that! What kind of cake do you think?

I will get the boxes today, do we want all pink, all green or a mix? Kelly would it be easier to do all pink boxes with zebra cupcake holders and you can just do one color frosting. Can you let me know your address so I can send the supplies for the cupcakes to your house? These are the ones Nik chose. I think they work.
